✓ Only advantage of this property is proximity to Dashaswamedh ghat.

✗ Most of the rooms are without window and no lighting. Before booking please ensure that the rooms are good. Ask if it has attached balcony. Probably only 2 rooms have attached balcony. Owner is very arrogant if you question about non ventilated rooms. Despite asking the owner to clean the room, it wasn't done. We were here for 6 nights without cleaning bathroom and room. There is a property next to this one namely Maya Inn. This seems to be better option. Much cleaner than marigold. Here too you need to ask for room with balcony.

✓ Everything was great, most importantly, the owner of the house, who is very helpful and friendly, helps in any situation, even if it is not his duty. The guest house is in a great neighborhood where you can access the most important part of the city with a few minutes' walk if you love this type of travel and being in the heart of culture like me. Even the landlord accompanied me to the main street when my bags was heavy. I had a great stay… Thank you 🙏🏻

Exceptional

✓ This is a great guest house. Located in a relatively quiet back alley between the river and the main street. The location is great a 1min walk from the ghats and also close to the market areas. The owner/manager is friendly and helpful - can help with a walking tour if booked in advance. It felt very safe. The room was tidy with a quiet fan and AC that worked well. The widi was good. It has a modest roof top area you can use with a view of the river. The best place I've stayed in india so far.

✗ Just be aware that it's location is great - but it is also down a rabbit Warren of narrow lane ways, and a taxi cannot get direct to it, so if you struggle walking or have a lot of luggage plan in advance. The map location on Google maps is accurate to find your way

✓ Marigold is a sweet guest house right off the main ghat. Wonderful location. Cute spot in old town.. my room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. The ac was fantastic for the hot weather. Was a good place to rest in the middle of the day.. and quiet at night.

✗ I didn’t realize there was a curfew, so I was locked out one night and I had to ring the bell, which I felt terrible waking up the house. The manager was pretty upset cause he was concerned. Just be sure and know this is a home and you do need to be in before 11pm.. or just let them know. :)

✗ Booking.com sent an email stating booking is confirmed without any payment and we can pay once arrived. The stay person received us very rudely and denied us room even after much pleading and we have to search another in the sun with luggage all along. DO NOT recommend this stay

✗ It would be better to have exhaust fan in Bathroom, since heat was trapped inside during sunny day
