✓ The view from the bungalows was nice, listening to the sea from the balcony was relaxing

✗ Palace Mirissa is in need of some updating and cleaning. The pool area has broken wooden slats and tiles though the pool itself was fairly clean. The paths to the bungalows were slippery and dangerous when carrying a backpack. The breakfast was drab compared to every other place that we stayed during our trip to Sri Lanka. The staff didn't interact with you. There was litter around our bungalow and although our bed had been made it didn't feel like the bungalow had been cleaned since the last customer. We decided to cut our stay short and left after the first night. Palace Mirissa obviously has potential, but needs some TLC and work on their staffs communication skills.

✓ Nice beach location to be at.

✗ It needs to be told that if you are staying anywhere near the Beach of Mirissa you will not sleep because of very very loud music at night. This has been a recurring problem for years. Check other comments on this issue before you decide to book there.

Fabulous

✓ Couldn't get enough of the sound of the waves. I will come back here for that alone. Great location as slightly away from Mirissa beach but a very easy walk to it and also close to surf camps, bars and restaurants. Very welcoming hosts and good options for breakfast.

✓ Lovely big rooms and bathrooms set in pretty grounds with swimming pool overlooking the coast. Convenient for wandering down to the beach and bars, and getting to whale watching boats. And the best thing was free use of the sister hotel on Mirissa Beach - access to beach towels, showers, swimming pool, sunbeds and bar whenever needed.

✗ Loud music from the local beach carries on all night every night - and there was no mention of this problem when booking, despite it being seemingly a permanent problem. Also no real hotel bar - breakfast was nice though.

✓ very noisy and could not sleep from 11:00-4:00 am you will hear all the parties like going on in your room the room is not clean no toothbrush no hot water the pool is dirty for 94 dollar it does not worth it all
