✓ Very clean, value for money (especially during my stay), very close to the bus station when yoi have to take very early morning bus out of Lalibela.
✗ Did not feel welcomed! There was uncomfortable quietness when I walked into the building. Immediately police knocking on the door did not help. So from the first hour things became awkward. This is not a touristy season due to discontinuation of visas for foreigners. I was lucky to get jn. So I was the only one in the town and in the house who is foreigner. I read good reviews of this place. Probably they get folks from first world countries. It was cheap accomodatikn during this time so no complains on budget. Price was good. However they do not know how to deal with non whites. Pretty lame and uncomfortable feeling however since I am a slow and steady traveler I stayed for 6 nights there for 8 usd a night. When I agreed to pay for booking website with my international card, the owner became bit friendly. The owner's wife, the family does not smile or greet. Language could be a barrier but not showing interest is a big deal breaker. God bless all of them!!!
✓ Best homestay ever! The location is good (next to the bus station, walking distance from the city center), everything is very clean, they have hot water and good shower. The breakfast is super tasty, the cat is friendly, but the main thing is the people. You are received by a wonderful family which will make everything to make you feel at home. Highly recommended!
✗ Nothing at all
✓ I was so happy to spend few days with this lovely family! They are well organized and really want to make your stay unforgettable. They also response all messages, explaining how to reach Lalibela by the public transport. Their house is located some 5 min walk up from the bus station, but the houses are not numbered here so it will be tricky to find it for the fitst time. Better contact them by phone and they will send somebody to pick you up. I recommend this place to all world travellers!
✗ During first night the dog was barking behind my window. But later they relocated it and I slept like a baby :)
