Exceptional

Lovely homely accommodation with lovely beach view and comfy & well-equipped common areas & bedrooms, clean bathrooms & toilet facilities. Had a very welcoming feel to it. One of my fave stays during my NZ South Island trip.

No lockers for valuables

Felt like a mini holiday

I would have liked to wake up and open the curtains so I could see the spectacular view of the sea. It felt abit strange as anyone walking past my room could look in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q

I want to book a bunk bed for the 3rd and the 6th of March, doing the Paparoa Track.? Is it possible to book a lower bunk rather top bunk?

Hi, we don't book out specific beds in the bunk rooms. They are first come, first serve. But with the borders being closed still, we are pretty quiet. You have a good chance of claiming a bottom bunk first. I hope that helps!

Q

Hi folks, I see you have dorm beds, how are you managing covid distancing guidelines with people sleeping in the same room? I'm really hoping that I can book my elderly mum and me into a room and have it to ourselves. January 3rd. Any chance you could help us with this request? kind regards Lisa

We don't require vaccine passports; anyone is welcome to stay here. We have a couple private room options (feel free to call and inquire). We also have many new cleaning procedures in place. And masks and social distancing are encouraged.

Q

are you allowed dogs?

I'm sorry, we are unable to allow dogs on site as so many people have allergies (including me). Kind Regards, Sophie Ph: 03 731 1852 Punakaiki Beach Hostel
