Offering an outdoor pool and sun terrace (currently under remodelation), Villas Margaritas Holbox is located in Holbox Island in the Quintana Roo Region. Free WiFi is available in common areas.

✓ Very comfortable beds, clean, filtered water available. Nice reading areas, strong A/C, good breakfast. Very helpful staff!
✓ comfy the people we great
✗ it felt a little far from the city center
✓ Breakfast is very basic.
✓ Beach was two blocks away. Easy 12 minute walk from ferry terminal. Easy 5-10 minute walk to town square. Super friendly staff, delicious breakfast buffet was replenished regularly. Coffee was excellent. Bikes to rent on premise.
✗ Rooftop was closed which would have provided beach views.
✓ Nice location, lovely staff.
✗ Lower level room was very dark, no sunlight unfortunately.
✓ This hotel was located at 4 minutes walk from the main beach (the majority of the hotels are located at less than 10 minutes walk from the beach). The hotel was located on a quiet street. The balcony was a nice asset to watch sunset. The room was spacious and the room decoration was very cute. The staff was very friendly. There was a small pool just beside the lobby, and the breakfast was simple but included. There were good quality soap, shampoo and lotion.
✗ I would have expected that in 2023, the guests can get wifi in their rooms. The rooms didn't have any entertainment system: no radio, no tv, no wifi. No coffee machine. When we arrived, tired, at the check in time (3 pm), the room was not ready yet and we had to wait 35 minutes in the lobby. I didn't like the mattress as it was overly soft... the type of mattress it is impossible to sleep on your belly as it fold your body backward. I would also have like that there was treated drinking water and coffee accessible outside of the breakfast hours. Note that the running water, and even the electricity, is not reliable on the island, so the hotel, like others, should have a way to store water so at least the guests can take short shower by example.
✓ Location is perfect, close to the beach and main street with cafes and restaurants. Staff was also very kind and helpful. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable and big. Tea, coffee and juice available all day.
✗ There was not warm water in the bathroom, which was a problem especially for the shower. The breakfast was a little bit boring, there was nothing Mexican to choice for - everyday fruits, pancakes and scrambled eggs. WiFi is available only in the lobby, not in the rooms. Be aware that there are not a strong cell signal on the island, which makes you problematic to use Internet in the room.
✓ This accommodation massively exceeded my expectations. The room had two double beds and two singles, so myself and my three friends got a bed each with plenty of room to spare. There was ample space for all four of us to get ready and lots of storage. The room was cleaned every day and fresh towels given, and the bathroom was spacious, with a more powerful than expected shower. The aircon was super efficient and the room was SO quiet, it was a very peaceful night's sleep. The long external corridor overlooking the jungle was great for sitting out in the morning and the Wi-Fi in communal areas was very good. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was AMAZING! Fresh fruit, pancakes and eggs each day included was phenomenal. The airport transfer was very good value and seamless and the external shower was useful for washing off the sand after a long day at the beach. The area/hotel felt very safe and the other guests were all quiet and easy-going. The location is the best thing about this hotel - it is 1min walk from the beach and 5-10mins walk from the main hub of town. It is also right next to a really fantastic restaurant called Piedra Santa, as well as a nice beach club called Mojito.
✗ Lighting in the room was a little dingy. The pool was always in the shade with no sun loungers but not a major issue with the beach being literally on your doorstep.
