Great stay, very welcoming and clean. Would definitely recommend.

✓ Greeted by a welcoming and very lovely reception. They had extensive knowledge of area and are able to book a taxi upon request. The house itself was very clean and well looked after. Hotel staff would come by and do housekeeping a few times a week.

✗ The shower in our house was rather temperamental, switching between hot and cold rather quickly.

First stay here, might return again.

✓ Location because of Matagorda beach, excellent Wi-Fi, lovely friendly staff, clean apartment.

✗ Obviously now after staying here I realise that there are 8 blocks and if I’m honest, it’s disappointing to be unable to select using booking.com a specific apartment in a block closer to or on the seafront. I can cope with that walking distance from the apartment I was allocated in block viii (8) to the seafront but there is absolutely no way my mother would. That was the reason I included 3 nights within this trip at Las Gaviotas, ie to bring her to a specific apartment on the seafront later this year and now I’m glad I did. I have visited the whole island and have stayed all around it quite a few times over the years and plenty of times walked past Las Gaviotas block 1 and thought of my mother staying here. I didn’t expect the seafront apartment,on this occasion however if it is possible to pre book and guarantee the location of the apartment I would certainly return no doubt. I guess everyone discovers the actual reality on their first trip here ie that there are 8 blocks and in my opinion and now firsthand experience this should be clear when booking via booking.com, so I am relieved that I didn’t bring my mother on this occasion! Also if the price is the same for a seafront apartment, which I assume it is it would be exceptionally good value for money, but not in comparison to where my apartment was located, obviously many people have discovered this through experience as well. To be fair I didn’t specifically request a seafront apartment but also there is no specific way via the booking app to actually specify this and it’s a case of find out when you get here, when making the reservation this would be ideal. As I write I am still here, in fact just checked out and the lovely lady on reception let me leave my luggage which is so helpful today as it’s 11 am and I don’t check in to my hotel until 4pm today, so I will be able to chat with her in an hour or two to enquire more about booking a more suitable apartment next time.

Perfect Stay, So Clean

✓ Good location to the sea front, only 5 minutes walk. Facilities very good like oven, microwave, air humidifier and hairdryer. Beds so comfy. Super clean apartment. 2 sun loungers and table so ability to lie out on the patio. Private outdoor room to dry clothes. Self sustainable and perfect for a week stay. Could use any of the 7 pools which was cool and would be nice for families.

✗ Not an issue for me but the bedroom was close to a road where buses pass so can get slightly noisy only then. Theres 8 areas of Las Gaviotas, all dotted around, some close to sea front, some not as much. Mine was number 7, which is more uphill and about 5 minute walk from sea front. It suited me but just to be aware you could be anywhere.

A peaceful 3 week break on my favourite island.

✓ I am a regular visitor to Las Gaviotas. On this occasion I was given a bungalow in a private location with a very nice small garden and closer to the shops. I had a small maintenance problem in the kitchen which was fixed within 1 hour of it being reported.

✗ Everything was just fine.
