Excellent hotel, well located and quiet

✓ Exceptionally good and nice hotel. Prime location, very nice decorated in an old building,, nice staff, very quiet, perfect.

The staff is really great. The room was comfortable. The location is great.

✓ The staff were amazing and helpful. They made excellent recommendations on restaurants and things to do. One restaurant they recommended Minagua, was the best restaurant I had dinner at in Spain. I didn't take advantage of the breakfast, but it was offerred. They had a library and tea room, which was nice. There were no other amenities, but that was fine with me. It's located right in the middle of everything, so it was an easy walk to most places, though I took a taxi to the Alhambra, but that was because of the heat. Because it is in the middle of everything, it did get a little noisy, but not too bad.

✗ It was a little noisy because it was located in the middle of everything. The recycling truck in the morning was pretty loud, but not overbearing. There were a lot of steps. One has to step into the hotel, and one has to walk up a couple of steps to get into their room. None of these issues were hassles.

✓ Very good localtion. Excellent service. Everything clean. I liked the litte Library and the painting of the wall of it. Quality/price was very good. Refreshing to be welcomed with a cup of tea offered.

✓ The breakfast was excellent, including the room which is architecturally interesting. It's set up with one long communal table though I ate solo due to the early hour.

✗ Despite good insulated windows there is some street noise, as a few clubs are down the street. Nothing overly distracting, but some noise. The central part of the hotel may have once been open air, so that space was frigid. The rooms of course have heat to adjust to comfort. The breakfast room was chilly as well, but expected during my winter visit.

Great location, clean, heating didn't work, terrible service.

✗ The receptionist was very unfriendly and didn't care that the heating in our room didn't work. In the end we had to sleep in full clothing as it was below zero outside. There is a free tea service in the lobby (very nice!) but with a time limit attached to it, so it wasn't available at 8am - that's just being stingy. If you do free tea, don't try to save money on a couple of supermarket teabags.

✗ I have dietary restrictions so it would be nice to be able to order a la carte for breakfast. When this isn’t offered, we eat breakfast off the premises. Our room had a small table & chair set which was very handy but our friends room didn’t. They had plenty of space for it so maybe something to consider for all rooms. There was no mini bar fridge in the rooms. Its always nice to have one in order to keep our own food fresh. We were on a month long vacation and this was the only hotel that didn’t have one.
