Old Tatev Guesthouse

Lovely modern spacious place

✓ Its all modern and in excellent condition, heaters are present and working well and everything is clean. What you would expect from very good hotels. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and there are good shower gels and shampoos available too. The village has several cafes/restaurants and shops working until late (recommend Tatev info cafe) but its very very quiet too.

✗ It was not super easy to find. The breakfast is a set selection, and no porridge/yoghurt available. Very tasty though.

You favorite stay in Tatev

✓ My stay at Old Tatev guesthouse was impeccable! The hosts are amazing, the house is at a 3min car drive from the Tatev monastery, the place gives you so much good energy with the most gorgeous garden and outdoor landscaping. Couldn't leave the terrace, a great place to chill, read, sit with friends, drink wine, chill on the hammock or enjoy a great conversation with miss Alvart our beautiful host. The breakfast is also delicious and filling. This place comes HIGHLY recommended.

Charming, cosy and tranquil place to stay, with excellent service and friendly, helpful staff

✓ Everything was great- from the service (the staff was extremely nice and helpful) to the guesthouse itself. If you've decided to stay in Tatev, which is a remote village, then this is an excellent choice. I specially loved their garden and outdoor seating area which was charming, perfect place to relax, enjoy a nice drink. I wish I had more time to spend here, I arrived very late in the evening and left very early in the morning. The night was SO quiet, tranquil and beautiful, and the breakfast was served in the day in their outdoor area which was great too. Tatev Monastery is only a 5-min walk.

✗ Nothing as such. I just wish they had a restaurant on site! But the nearest restaurant is only a 5-min walk away. The street gets VERY dark at night so be prepared to have a torchlight if you're going to stay out late.

Perfect getaway

✓ Everything was great, Vagho is a great host and you have to try the local red wine, which can be purchased in the local market or at the guesthouse.

✓ We love everything about this place. Incredibly beautiful house and surroundings with such a great host. By far the best stay we have had while travelling through Armenia. P.S. Really great home-made tea!
