Fine hotel but huge.
✓ It's a fine hotel. But it's huge, so things like trying to get a beach chair are difficult. And the number of people at the breakfast buffet is large. There are at least three hotels and a mall as part of the complex.

In general, and in spite of the denial of late checking out, I strongly recommend this hotel.
✓ The beach was wonderful, and the breakfast was excellent, The buffet dinner was great in terms of quality and cost. I liked the 3 outdoor swimming pool, as they are of different depth, which makes them suitable for all ages.
✗ I didn't like being kept waiting more than 2 hours after the regular checking in time. I was given access to my room after 5 pm. At the day of checking out, I was denied late check out. This point bothered me so much.

Perectly located for a short stay
✓ I was only staying for a few days and had very specific requirements. The Savoy met all of them. Specifcally the location was not too far from the airport as I had a late arrival and I also had a day trip to Cairo. It was also right on Sharks Bay beack and the reef so i could do some snorkelling from the hotel beach. As others have reported the hotel looks slightly tred and dated in places but overall still offers luxury standard accommodation. I didn't eat here as a hotel guest you got a 25% discount in Soho Square so I ate there for a change of scenery. Staff at the hotel were extremely helpful in helping me book taxis etc for my various comings and goings.
✗ There was nothing to dislike really everything was exactly as I wanted and expected.
