The set up of the tents directly on the beach is very nice. My tent was nicely appointed and the bed was comfortable. The owners, Paul and Venetta, are so hospitable. They prepared a continental breakfast each morning for their guests that was tasty. The views at sunset are nothing short of magical.

Contrary to the website photos, all but one tent gives you a direct view of the beach. I happened to end up in that one tent, which is placed behind shrubs, giving only a partial view of the beach. The seating for my tent was also behind shrubs. So, I rarely sat there but to eat. The other tents provide an unobstructed view, which allowed for sitting outside the tents with a direct view of the water. As a result, I ended up paying for a lounge chair on the beach, which was operated by someone else. See more about that below. The owners should really consider giving a discounted rate for this tent since it gives a very partial view of the water, similar to how oceanfront hotels rate their rooms. Wild Lotus sits on Valley Church Beach, which feels somewhat secluded until cruise day. When large cruise ships come to town there are excursions to this beach, which brings quite a few people by catamaran or taxi. They usually stay most of the day and it can get a bit crowded. The locals typically set up umbrellas and beach chairs for them in front of the Wild Lotus tents. You can also use these chairs and umbrellas but for an extra cost. They are not owned by Wild Lotus. The campsite/beach are off of a main road. They lock the gate leading to the beach every evening at 6 pm. It is unlocked every morning, but only on cruise ship days when there will be more traffic to the beach. On non-cruise-ship days, it remains locked. Unless you have a car, it requires walking to the gate to unlock it and then walking from there to the main road to access transportation to get anywhere or to walk anywhere. It is not very close to nearby restaurants, because of its location. It’s not the safest to walk, particularly at night, because the road doesn’t have very good lighting, not because of crime. I did this once and wished I hadn’t. The only restaurant on the beach is closed when the cruise ships are not docked. Therefore, for accessing food, it is not the best location.
