Royal Haciendas is a good choice.

✓ The location is great... just north of Playa Del Carmen. It's a good-sized resort with 6 pools and a great beach. The buffets were great. I am celiac so I eat gluten-free - the chefs let me know what I could eat. The room I had was convenient and comfortable. The WiFi was fantastic. This is a good place to stay at. It's family-friendly. The family I went with was celebrating a wedding anniversary and the hotel put on a good party for us.

Sunshine + soft sand + beach palapa + beautiful ocean = pure relaxation!

✓ Loved the staff! Our beachfront room was another highlight of our stay!

✗ I was disappointed that my request to put two reservations together in the same building was not honoured until day 6 of our 11 day stay despite contacting the hotel three weeks prior. Switching rooms was an inconvenience and ate into our time.

✓ The facilities in the hotel are great. Great pools, restaurants, bar, kid's club. The food in general was great, very diverse and of good quality (though see note below). Pretty decent rooms. WiFi worked rather well. Free Antigen covid tests.

✗ We were a group of 11 people, out of whom 5 got food poisoning, towards the end of our stay. That definitely ruined what would otherwise be a great stay. Possibly the hygiene in the kitchens need to be enforced better. The thematic restaurants are very hard to book. You need get up at 8 am, to book them for the same day. The beach has only a small clean strip where it's easy to enter, otherwise there are rocks or branches, and entry is difficult. Though the swimming area is fairly big, and you could even snorkel if the sea is calm.
