Ama Islantilla Resort

I can't wait to go back!

✓ The employees, the facilities, the cleaning of the whole hotel, the free parking, the bathroom (the wonderful soap and shower gel available), the gym, the facilities, the swimming pools and the service available from the hotel to the beach!

✗ The buffet does not contain sufficient vegetarian options, actually the only options available were the common choices (like cheese, bread, olives, some salads (mostly with bacon), some side dishes like spinach, etc). It was a bit disappointing.

✓ Good hotel with professional staff Rooms are spacious and clean. Nice balcony . Pools were closed!

Beware, ask if there are any private parties booked at the hotel for the dates of your stay.

✓ Stayed at hotel before and liked it as everything was good except the buffet breakfast which was pretty poor. But this time the breakfast was greatly improved, so we have to give top marks for that.

✗ The room was cold so a technician had to be called to came up to the room and apparently there was a problem with all the rooms on the first floor but in the end it was ok in our room. Our friends were not so lucky and had to use a temporary fan heater to keep warm as it was December. The worst part was the noise from the music and shouting from a birthday party in the only bar in the hotel. We wanted a sandwich in the bar but they couldn't offer any food so.we had to walk to the Hilton Doubletree hotel up the road where it was warm with two tvs in the bar showing the World Cup and they had a snack food menu. Back at our hotel, the noise from the bar was unacceptable. We were not told in advance that that they had a private party on and it would be in the bar and to top this off they allocated us two adjoinig rooms on the 1st floor directly over the bar.where the party was held. The hotel obviously does not have any function rooms or any place that is isolated away from the guest bedrooms. They should in my opinion not offer to host parties that will clearly affect guests staying in the hotel. The volume level from the live band in the room was so high that we could feel the window panes in our room vibrating.plus the stomping on the floor from flamenco dancing. Fortunately the music stopped around midnight and it quietened down by about 1230 and it remained quiet during the night. We also found the checkin and checkout at the reception desk painfully slow. Sadly if we return to La Antilla, it would be worth paying the extra cost to stay elsewhere rather than the Ama resort.

✓ The apartment was huge, modern and comfortable. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pools and gardens were wonderful. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to friends.

✗ The set-up of the spa facilities was a bit disjointed, and the Turkish bath and one of the saunas were not in use. The hot food at all meals was a little disappointing.

✗ Charged after I left, to my card was a 'gestion' that was never aforementioned. I will be disputing this. Avoid this hotel.

Fabulous

✓ The room, the pool area, gym, resturant dinner/breakfast was really, really good! I would really recommend this hotel!

✗ The gym did not open before 09:00. I wanted to just use the treadmill but I couldnt get in. They said I could use my card to get in at the reception but I didnt work. I got tired of going up and down to the reception and went for a run outside instead.
