Set on 4 acres of native coastal gardens, Sandpiper Cottages offers pet friendly beachfront accommodation just a short walk through sand dunes to beautiful Denison Beach.
✓ so we’ll setup. everything thought of
✗ needs a fan in the bathroom
✓ Breakfast provided was lovely
✓ I enjoyed the breakfast basket that was supplied. Being walking distance from the beach and a short drive from other tourist attractions was really lovely
✗ I think the cottage was starting to get a bit dated, but I really liked the nostalgic feeling of staying in a 'shack' like I used to as a kid.
✓ Perfect little home away from home!
✓ everything - the welcome, the welcome basket (it was late when I arrived so there was food - eggs from the chooks, local sourdough, amazing local muesli) the cottage is gorgeous, warm, clean, cosy, I could stay forever ..

✓ House is big and well equip but no cooking pan though.
✗ The house is infested with fly maggots ( or some wormy insects that looks like maggots) that dropped off from the living room ceiling. Horrible scene of them crawling on the floor across the rooms. Lucky it is our checkout day - message owner but no response . Also house ran out of hot water pretty fast and it seems they not aware of the house setup. The tap isn’t easy to control the right level of warm water , and we are having freezing cold bath, even the alternative to drive to the other cottages to bath don’t sound convenient. Floor is dirty if you wipe it and notice brown stains even after a few wipes . Notice ( maybe reasonable to expect insects inside but I don’t experience these much in other stay here ) spider webs, dead spider on the mattress cover, and couple of other . The drive to the house isn’t well lit . Also and the path to the beach isn’t well maintained and not easily accessible ( which make the booking more disappointing as we want to choose one near the beach ).
✓ The location is perfect- the beach is literally your backyard, plus the other key sites like Freycinet national park and the bay of fires are within an hours drive. The cottages are so cozy and also provide some privacy due to the distance between each cottage. The bed was one of the most comfy beds I have ever slept on. I also loved the small touches like providing a little kitchen bin for chicken scraps, and having the chickens wandering around the cottage in the morning. Upon arrival I was provided with a lovely breakfast basket that they had prepared, which I was not expecting and really appreciated.
Yes, all linen, towels & basic kitchen provisions are provided.
Hi Linda - yes, dogs are welcome in all of our cottages for a flat $10 fee. Cheers, John
Hi - there is a short walk to the beach over a sand dune on a well travelled path, so it is uphill, but the slope is not extreme. There is a flat $10 fee per dog. Cheers, John
