The Kasbah Tebi is located in the heart of the old village of Aït-ben-Haddou. Authentic Berber fortified house dating back more than 400 years, this B&B is classified as a World Heritage Site by Unesco.

✓ The staff were exceptional and made us feel extremely welcome, spending time to get to know us, to tell us of the history and culture of the area, the family business, and the Kasbah. The Kasbah itself will be like nothing you’ve ever seen before. It’s authentic candlelit atmosphere is extraordinary and will leave a lasting memory of the Berber culture and Morocco for me. The location itself is magical and waking up early to watch the sunset is a must! At night, the stars are so bright and beautiful in this peaceful place. We had dinner there for a very reasonable price of 130 dirham, which was delicious and plentiful, and so was the breakfast. You will not be short of Moroccan tea and interesting conversation. I couldn’t recommend this property enough to anyone who visits the area. If you make an effort and trust the experience, you won’t regret it.
✗ Everything was perfect. The only minor downside might be that the beds are a bit hard for my liking but this seems to be the standard in Morocco, so this may be a personal preference rather than criticism.
✓ Location was unique and excellent! It's not often you get to stay overnight in an UNESCO World Heritage site, and staying in candlelit bedrooms was special. Mohamed was a great host - friendly and helpful throughout. We didn't opt for the dinner because we were ready for a break from the tangines, but the setting for the meal was really cool.
✗ Not much. Mohamed provided great instructions for parking and getting to the kasbah. It's about a 5-7 minute walk. Do know that the path, which includes crossing a dry riverbed, is not ideal for classic pull behind luggage. We carried/rolled our luggage ourselves, but Mohamed does offer to have someone assist if needed.
✓ Totally wonderful experience without electrical light. Stunning setting in the Kasbah, all creature comforts such as bathroom, shower, toilets working wonderfully. Dinner is also great and the owner plus his staff are wonderful people. Secure parking about 10 min walk away - if needs be your luggage get's transported via mule! Go there - enjoy the experience.
✓ Amazing location right inside the old town of Aït Benhaddou, such an experience!
✓ Incredible. Inside the old walled town, one of only two properties that permit staying inside the town. You give up electricity and WiFi, but the candlelit stays and gorgeous architecture more than make up for it. The food is amazing as well. The chef will make delicious tagines to your preference :)
✓ Location and the old building
✗ -
✓ unbelievable setting felt like I was living in a family home ! truly real Kashbah experience
✗ no electricity in first room but candles were romantic!
✓ Featuring perhaps the most atmospheric and romantic setting of any lodging I've ever stayed in, Kasbah Tebi is truly for those seeking to immerse themselves in an ancient atmosphere. This is a place to cut yourself off from the world for a day or two. Once the day trippers have gone home, you will have one of the world's most extraordinary Unesco world heritage sights virtually to yourself under the most glorious stars imaginable. The building itself exceeds anything you might have in your imagination as an architectural wonder, and a candlelit dinner here will remain in the mind forever.
✗ The single room, nested in the core of the ancient mud brick structure, was very small and dark. If I return, I would choose an outside double because even by daylight the single felt like staying inside an ancient tomb. Of course, if that's what you're looking for, the silence and total darkness will be an extraordinary experience.
The distance between the kasbah and the parking is less than 400m, but we take in charge the luggage from the parking
Hello Tracy, From Marrakech, you can take a bus from one of these companies : CTM or Supratours. They have a regular line from Marrakech to Ouarzazate. Ask to the driver to stop you at the crossroad for Aït Benhaddou and take a taxi for the last 9km.
