Very basic but at a good price
✓ Very good location, good wifi and parking right next to the building. Bus stop is also right in front of the building. The facilities are simple, but basic standard for japanese guest houses. There are recommendations and pamphlets available for what to do in Yakushima. Also the price is very fair.
✗ The futon was very thin, especially in the middle, which gave me some back pain after sleeping on it for a few nights. There is a dryer but no facilities to hang clothes that can't go into the dryer (like rain coats). So you have to hang them in your room, which leaves stains on the wooden walls.

One of the best value for money you can get in a we located area of yakushima
✓ Staff, the kitchen ustensile available i.e. You Get everything you need. The washroom is clean, the room was a traditional old Japanese room with a comfortable bed and good A/C.
✗ Nothing wrong with my stay. The check in was a bit weird since you need to go to an avec building but that's okay! The staff was responsive. The shared bathroom and shared kitchen make it less comfortable than if they were private but that's part of the charm. For the price the value you get is outstanding.

✗ This is not a place for a solo traveler who looks for friends! I thought more solo travelers will stay there since the price was really good. But no... The new building is not near the reception
