Conrad Seoul

Excellent location and service.

Have stayed many times but would not do so in future due to the rigid attitude of the staff

✓ The location and facility of the hotel is good.

✗ Two particular incidents made me feel I would not want to stay in Conrad next time. 1) I am a frequent business traveller and i have stayed in Conrad multiple times. Due to some personal reasons that I would need to change my reservation, but the staff was very strong in their denial of the request despite it was still 2-3 weeks away from the actual date of stay and I offered a few options as well; it made me feel that the staff didn’t try to help but rather, only tried to close the case single-mindedly. 2) During my stay, for some reason, they deactivated my room card. I used the phone at the floor where I stayed and called the staff for help. Instead of coming up to help, the staff requested that I go down to get my room key reactivates. Once downstairs, I got requested to show the credit card I used for the booking (which I left in my room). I told them it’s not with me and instead I have my passport with me. They claimed that they have to swiped credit card for validation and requested that I go up to the room and bring the card down. At that instant, I was annoyed and asked them why I have to come down again. Later, a manager came and told me that he would go upstairs with me and brought the card down for validation. What I still do not understand is why I need to go through so many troubles for something that’s wrong in their system/database, etc. It made me feel there is no thinking on behalf of the guest and everything is simply ‘this is a rule/policy’. Moving forward, really doubt I would be staying on Conrad willingly. For the price it charges, the attitude and service level of the staff is mediocre.

✗ I am just surprised that there are add ons (like Wi-Fi) and it’s not for free despite the rates of the hotel.

Absolutely loved the stay. The view was amazing and the size of the room was just perfect.

✓ The selection of food for breakfast buffet was excellent. Byredo products for toiletries were my favorite!

✗ The daily housekeeping needs a bit of improvement.

One the best hotels in Seoul

✓ Probalby, one of the (if not the) best hotels in Seoul, not much to add here. Perfect location, perfect facilities, it's Hilton after all. And yes, the views are superb.

✗ It took a while to get a response to the issues that were reported to the property by my wife. For example, the room didn’t have heat and water. Those are not small issues. The staff sent a small heater up to the room, and told her the water would be fixed (this was at 9 pm). She went to inquire again at 3 am when she was still cold and without water. They finally moved them, but after talking to their manager did a couple of times. I’m surprised that this is a “five star experience”. I’d hope the staff would be better at responding to issues that occur on site.
