Beautiful place to stay - but isolated

✓ The trout dinner was one of the best fish meals I have ever eaten. The room was comfortable and the staff were friendly. It is a beautiful place to stay but very isolated.

✗ Getting here by public transport is a bit of a nightmare. I travelled by bus from Kotor to Sutamore and then a local train to Virpazar. When I got to Virpazar there were no taxis and there is only one man working there who didn't speak English. So I had to phone the Apartments and they kindly organised a taxi to drive me to the accommodation - which cost me 20 euro. It is very isolated which I knew but I underestimated just how far it was. Part of the reason for staying there was because I was flying out of Podgorica at 5pm the next day so I thought I would do a boat tour in the morning and then go to the airport in the afternoon. I had two choices for the boat tours - a private boat tour which was 50-100 euros (depending on how long) or a tour on the son's boat for 15 euro. But I couldn't do the tour on the son's boat because there was nowhere to store my suitcase. So I ended up paying 40 euro for the owner to drop me off at the airport at 10am and I sat there for 7 hours until my flight left. I would have stayed at the apartments until 11am and done some work on my laptop but their wifi wasn't working in the morning. In hindsight I should have stayed in Kotor for an extra night and got a bus to the airport on the day I was leaving.

Lovely stay

✓ This stay was exceptional. Its run by the whole family and everybody is so nice and helpful. The flat is big and clean with everything you can need, not to mention beautiful mountain view with sunsets. There is a restaurant with home made food and local products and wine so its a must for dinner. You can also book a boat trip on the lake for 1 -2 or 3 hours. We did at 6:30 am and it was calm and magical with almost no other boats there and birds flying everywhere. There is a parking and wifi works great. Paid by cash. We loved everything!

✗ The mountain road to the place is very narrow and twisted so just be ready especially if you are not a confident driver.

✓ Remote place (access a bit touchy on a slightly challenging road --> better during daylight). Sympathic owner ! Food is nice and very local ! Great view from the terrace when having breakfast. Boat trip proposed is pleasant, however a bit expensive..

Exceptional

✓ The view on the lake, the awesome fish for dinner, the amazing breakfast with homemade fig jam, and the quiet, beautiful room with the comfortable bed.

✗ The curtains let pass a lot of light. I blocked it by putting towels in front of the windows. Don't take your dinner too late outside, you'll have to fight mosquitoes. :)

✓ The host couple are very kind and helpful, area is clean and beautiful surroundings on site restaurant is a must have: absolutely delicious food!

✓ Beautiful place between mountains. Kind hosts, tasty homemade food, we really liked our weekend there. Road is not so difficult to drive if to drive carefully.
