right in the heart of historic Al Balad

✓ This place might be the only hotel that is in the absolute heart of the most historic (and therefore interesting) part of Al Balad. It is a five minute walk to basically all the major sites in the neighborhood. Despite the dinginess of the room, the bed is mega comfortable, and given the bargain price for Saudi and the stellar location, I would still stay here again despite my relatively low scores.

✗ These rooms have seen some abuse, and I think it's because pilgrims must crash here before going to Mecca. More cigarette burns than I've ever seen, like the carpet had been torched multiple times. That being said, it wasn't the smokiest room I've ever stayed in. Note that you are next to a mosque, and, for some reason they have 3-4 morning calls to prayers, around 3, 4, 5, and 6 am. Normally I thought there should only be one at sunrise. Not the hotel's fault obviously, but worth mentioning.

Great place in Al Balad

✓ Stuff was great and kind. My room was switched to bigger the next day. It is an older property, but I expected it. Great location in Al Balad. My stay was comfortable and pleasant.

✓ I did stay for one night, while traveling, so I chosen the cheaper one.

✗ Small dirty bathroom, uncleaned with urine mark on floor and commode. Broken toilet seat. It was marketed as breakfast available, but nothing was available. Poor old lift.
