Superb high quality boutique hotel set in historic Nelsons dockyard. Pillars their restaurant had outstanding views across the water to Boom the location of the suites ,infinity pool and outstanding restaurant.

The hotel and its localisation was delightful. We had a room in a garden with a patio, the room was big enough, clean and if it wasn’t for the mosquitos we could have slept outside because the patio at night was really relaxing. The staff was adorable and really helpful. Both restaurants were amazing, and the highlight was the tiny boat trip to go or come back from the pool, mostly at sunset hours.

This boutique hotel excels in customer service. Nothing is too much trouble for the well-trained, hospitable and friendly team. I was greeted by name, and treated as an individual. The location in Nelson's Dockyard is superb.

The garret bedroom was tiny, but fit for purpose.

Admiral's Inn was such a charming place to stay--they did a great job keeping the beautiful historic exterior and details of the building, while modernizing it to really feel comfortable and upscale. A great option for anyone looking for something more unique than the all-inclusive options. I had a hillside room with a renovated bathroom. The staff was lovely and can help book activities and taxis. There is a little boat that shuttles between Admiral's, the pool area (amazing!) and Gunpowder suites just across the harbour, and Galleon beach, about 5 mins down the harbour. The two restaurants are pretty expensive, but unfortunately that is the case on much of the island. I enjoyed walking around the outdoor museum nearby, out to Fort Berkeley for panoramic views of the harbour and sea, and taking the ~1 mile trail signposted near the Fort for higher vantage points, plus goats! (Wear sneakers and sun protection, it's quite exposed and the rocks can be slippery.) You can walk into town for more restaurants and bars, but just be aware that during low season, many of the restaurants are fully closed! Last tip for any tennis players, while it's not cheap ($45 taxi each way + $90 1hr lesson), Curtain Bluff resort offers tennis lessons for non-guests. Their courts are incredible, a stone's throw away from the beach, and I had a fantastic lesson with one of their pros, Sleepy. Highly reco.

The harbour has two main beaches nearby that I enjoyed--Galleon and Pigeon--however if you're looking to get to other beaches/spots outside of the harbour, it does require an expensive taxi (if you don't have a rental car). Also one thing to note, not specific to the harbour: traveling in the low season (I went early June) really does mean low season. It is quite quiet (which can definitely be a good thing), but most restaurants and bars are closed for the summer, so finding food outside of the hotel can be tough, especially on weekdays.

gorgeous location in a perfect part of english harbour/falmouth. the hotel is lovely and very comfortable and pleasant. do be aware its right in the middle of a historic monument so during the day tours do come by.

in general it seems like most folks working in tourism in antigua are a bit fed up with the tourists, which, honestly I can't blame them. the hotel staff was definitely less frustrated than most other places.

How can I get to the closest beach from the property?

We offer a complimentary boat shuttle to Galleon Beach which is about 5 minutes away. There is also Pigeon Point Beach which is a 3 minute drive or a 15 minute walk away.

Yes there are several bars and venues with live music within walking distance. We also have live music twice per week - a steel band on Wednesday and a jazz band on Saturday.

Are there rooms on ground level with bathroom which can accommodate my wife who has trouble with stairs, especially at night.

Yes we do have ground floor rooms - we have one superior with sea view and 3 superiors with garden view as well as 4 Deluxe Gunpowder Suites. All our rooms have bathrooms on the same level as the bedroom. It is best to contact the hotel to ensure you get a room on the ground floor as we also have rooms in each of these categories that are not on the ground floor.

weather temperature in the Months of January (2020) and February (2020)

The weather in Antigua is consistent all year around but for those months we experience temperatures between 21 and 28 degrees Celsius.

We would like to stay with our 4 month old but wonder if the Deluxe Suite with Sea View (Admiral’s) or Deluxe Junior Suite (Gunpowder house) is best?

Both suites would be great for a stay with your 4 month old. The Deluxe Junior Suites might be the better choice as they are more private, have balconies and are close to the pool and Boom restaurant. The Deluxe Suite has a separate living room.

If we book this room - do we get access to the swimming pool at Boom? Thank you

All hotel guests have access to Boom and the facilities.

The standard garden view rooms, the pictures suggests they are situated over the bay on the pool side of the property, not in the main building?

Yes that's correct. They are on the pool side of the property where Boom Restaurant and the Gunpowder Suites are.

Unfortunately we do not offer a kids club option but depending on the age of the kids we do have paddle boards and kayaks as well as snorkel equipment and a boat shuttle to the beach where they can swim or snorkel. There is also a pool on property.
