A perfect home to stay at while in Tatev

This is the first time I wanted to give a property on Booking.com a rating of 11. Everything was wonderful. Tatev was the last stop for me on a 3 day hike from Goris. I stayed 2 nights here at Rubina bnb. Their home is beautiful and the breakfast (alot of it from their own garden) was the best I have had in Armenia. Everyone was extremely friendly and I felt welcome the whole time. VERY clean. Great hot water shower in a clean and spacious bathroom. I was treated to tea, Coffee, cakes, home made cherry jam and other sweets both evenings. This is in addition to the awesome breakfast. I feel like I should have payed more to be honest. Book this place!

I rolled in after a very long drive from Yerevan, a day after crossing the border by car from Georgia. The Armenian people are incredibly hospitable, I had a few problems in Yerevan with my hotel and with no exception, people went out of their way to help me. The drive into Tat'ev is not for the feint of heart, but I'm kinda used to the roads in the region. I had no idea what the place would be like and I was still a little unsettled from two days of very long drives. The location cannot be beat, it's waking distance to the Monastery in some of the most beautiful country on earth. I couldn't quite find the place and a local who spoke no English approached me and offered to help in the universal language that is hand gestures and reading one another's expressions. I told him the name of the hotel and he reached out his hand and said, "Ruben", pointing at his chest. He was the owner of the property, and about as cool of a guy as I have ever met. He has a few rooms, some in his own house and some in an adjacent place that is newly constructed. Both overlook the canyon, but the views vary by room. I paid for a smaller room, I didn't think too much about selecting something that was a fit for me, but it was a little too cramped (a totally great price for the room, but I needed a little more space at that moment). He understood and hooked me up in the new building which was awesome and just a class-act thing to do. When you are way off the beaten path you are in the hands of the locals, to a large extent. I enjoy that feeling but it can go a couple ways, depending on the place/people. This one went the great way, and I'll remember my breakfast early in the yard overlooking the canyon and the human connection I made with Ruben and his wife forever. What a cool place and what special people.

You get what you pay for, and he has all budget rooms. Make a good choice and pay for what is right for you and the place is awesome.

Angin and Ruben are two amazing hosts. They are very warmcoming and help me with what I needed. The breakfast as the cakes at teatime are delicious, I even ask for the recipe of one of the cake ! It’s also well located, close to the monastery and a great restaurant called Tatev info cafe. 100% recommend

The best hosts from our 2 weeks trip to Armenia. Great hospitality, great food (delicious breakfast, variety of food, coffee tee, pie upon arrival). We had very nice conversation in the evening. They also helped us to book marshutka to Yerevan and drove us to bus stop. I highly recommend!
