Nice place to stay

✓ the apartment is very nice, welcoming and in excellent condition. we found everything needed for cooking and bathroom products. the bed is very comfortable and the blankets are warm. an excellent base for visiting the city and surrounding areas.

✗ Compared to the actual services listing here on booking, we have some notes: there is no proper heating (only a very small electric radiator for two floors); the washing machine is not a dryer (it only has a cold air spin cycle which speeds up drying, but does not actually dry); the clothesline is in the garage mounted on the wall. if you park the car you cannot use it.

Good value enormous apartment with awesome kitchen and wifi.

✓ This enormous apartment is exceptionally good value. It was barely US$55 per night for one person (they charge more for extra people). There's actually a downstairs bedroom too, so I imagine you could have two couples and two-three kids (you'd have to ask). The furniture is nothing special but certainly good enough, and there are multiple spaces for eating/working/reading/snoozing etc including a private balcony at the back (no real view). Parking on the street is a a breeze and perfectly safe, just take your valuables. The kitchen has so much stuff you could make a banquet - that's not necessary because Swakopmund has plenty of good quality restaurants. The Perfect Stay staff are helpful and responsive and can book restaurants for you (I recommend doing this as far in advance as possible as this is a very popular tourist town). I went to the Ocean Cellar and I loved it! Given this is the second largest city in Namibia it's a good place to restock on all your supplies, too. You DEFINITELY will want to do a dune tour (they depart around 8.30am or 1pm from southern Walvis Bay, 38km to the south). I used Wild Space safaris and my guide, Marius, is exceptionally skilled, knowledgeable, adaptable, and easy going. BOOK EARLY. It takes 4 hours and you will feel transported to another planet. You'll potentially also see springbok, ostrich, jackal, other animals. I went in the morning and spent the afternoon in the museum, aquarium etc. The beach is lovely, probably good for relaxing if it's not cold and windy!! Bear in mind there are about 10 stairs to enter the property and 15 stairs to go up to the bedrooms. I had no issues with the wifi and they have Netflix available.

✗ There was no salt, pepper, oil, coffee, tea. In fact, just one carton of long life milk. So you have to buy or bring everything comestible. They do have everything for showering and cleaning so you needn't bring that. The ensuite bathroom is a bit small so it won't suit anyone very big (I am very average in size), but there is a second bathroom which is fine. It was cold, due to the tiles, and there was only one little heater, so you had to wear somewhat warm clothes inside. Note the temperatures 10-25 degrees all year in Swakopmund are pretty much what you expect so that can't be changed.
