Beautiful, quiet retreat for a few days.
✓ Truly a beautiful location, right alongside the river. An easy 3.5 hour drive from Bangkok, it was perfect for a few quiet days. You do really need a car to explore the area, so we stayed mainly at the hotel. The grounds are lovely and nicely cared for. The pool near the lake is really very lovely and the rooms were big and comfortable, with nice bathrooms. The description of WW2 history on site was very interesting. The lake is small, but kayaking was still good fun.
✗ Some of the communal areas could use more love and attention (e.g. the interesting WW2 museum on site as well as the reception / central area. The food was very average: the breakfast was sparce and dinner dishes were not particularly tasty. For somewhere so far away, this is a real pitty. The prices of the available tours and transfers are absurd, discouraging us from going on any of them. The wifi was really very bad and erratic. For a remote location, also very surprising that there was no spa/wellness services available.

Perfect resort to relax
✓ Amazing resort in a beautiful garden setting on the Kwae Noi River. Swimming pool and hot water pool in a tranquil natural setting. The restaurant serves delicious food and the breakfast buffet is extensive.

When you arrive at Namtok Railway Station (end of route), get off at there and rent a local mini truck to Home Phutoey River Kwai. Just give a full name of our resort to the driver. The cost of transportation is 500 Baht per car.

Check in is from 2:00 p.m. onwards. Our Reception is available till 10:00 pm. After this there is the security guards standby at the resort .
