Nice place but not so nice people!

✓ I did really like the hotel as a whole! Oldies but goldies! Very fine wood pieces from the past very nice arrangement of surroundings, terraces and restaurants. The personnel from the restaurant at breakfast, very kind and helpful. The ginger/orange shot from the breakfast. Hotel design! The dinner menu and most, the wine. I do really recommend Pinot blanc from 2018. The best wine which I ever drink in my life! Do not order schnitzel because they feel somehow offended. I recommend other menu options!

✗ Unfortunately, the lady from the reception evaluated the tourists according to their appearance and nationality. When she saw that my nationality is from Romania something wrong appeared on her face! If you do not speak german this may be an inconvenient. I really like to travel as a normal modest tourist a state which hide my personality and help me to select good quality people wherever I go. Unfortunately I did not feel so confortable when I received room 303 a very old and not renovated room. I recommend you to ask for the rooms 101-10... and starting with 201 because they are renovated and modern furnished. My room did not correspond with the description from booking. It is an old room where the plug in close to the desk for charging my computer did not work. I asked to the reception to repair it but nothing happened. Also, the bed was confortable but it has nothing in between bed and wall, so, it was a little bit scarring for me and also cold. The buttons for the switch on/off are from the past, mostly before 1980. The furniture is very, very old. On booking there are posted the renovated rooms. For people with disabilities the access to rooms starting with 3 is very hard. It was also for me without any disability. IN the first morning on the floor from the restaurant were a lot of spots of wine, not cleaned from last night. IN the second morning, everything was OK realted to the cleaness of the restaurnat floor. It would be better for the persons from the reception to treate people equally. When a person choose this hotel for sure is not poor and also no not educated despite of its appearance. And it would be kind to pay more attention to single persons . Maybe they travel for business alone...Very old TV with a limited options. Morning coffee with limited posibilities. For sure, the old rooms as I described before did not match such a high price. The renovated one do!

Good hotel, restaurant service lacking

✓ Lovely hotel and comfy rooms. Good parking for motorcycles.

✗ Restaurant was very unorganised. As we were residents were told at reception no need to book and just give our name/room number when we came down for dinner - by which time there were no tables inside. We proceeded outside and found a table. Sat down ordered drinks to then he told the table was reserved. Moved table again to finally be served.

Good hotel but wouldn’t stay again because just to noisy

✓ great location and really clean

✗ Noisy in the back rooms, people outside drinking until midnight so not good if you’ve got a long day ahead like we had and the extractor fan in the toilet is very noisy and keeps going for about 30 minutes just totally annoying.

I loved everything about this property. It was my favorite place that I stayed on a three week trip.

✓ The hotel had an old world charm. It was outside of the city center core, but that didn't matter. The interior was beautiful. And the spa was lovely. And the restaurant was amazing. I would stay here again without hesitation.

✗ The pool was closed for renovation. I also would have liked to use the steam room in the morning.

Beautiful, historic hotel & restaurant

✓ Once you arrive at the hotel it is in a lovely quiet location, the room was comfortable and quiet. The entire hotel and restaurant is high class tavern feel, I recommend checking out their instagram because it truly matches their aesthetic https://instagram.com/eurenerhof?igshid=YzAyZWRlMzg= If you want any spa services the lady is by request so ask the front desk and they will provide her number to book. The sauna, pool, gym, and sunning areas are lovely. Overall highly recommend.

✗ There is no AC so if you sleep hot, bring a fan. After dark in summer, it is hard to keep the window open because bugs are drawn to your light. Take the bus in summer. There are plenty of stops to & from the train station. If you walk there are some rougher/industrial areas for about a half mile between the bridge from downtown & the hotel. It’s a good 40-50min trek from Porta Nigra.
