Set directly opposite Thornton Beach and surrounded by the Daintree National Park, Thornton Beach Bungalows feature a private patio offering views of the Coral Sea. Guests can enjoy lovely tropical gardens.

✓ This place in truly amazing! We loved staying here for 2 nights and regretted that we could not stay longer. Although the whole area is off the grid (relying on solar power) it has everything we needed, even a washing machine (cold only) what we didn't expect. Be aware however that due to the humid conditions, it takes very long to dry the clothes (no tumbler available of course). The lack of A/C was no problem at all as the whole building has ventilation blinds that can be opened and there are remote controlled fans everywhere so you can have a nice breeze during the night. Be sure to bring everything you need to the Daintree forest as there are not many shopping opportunities. The kitchen is large and together with the BBQ grill we could cook a delicious meal. The owner took much time to show us around and explained us everything. She was super friendly!
✓ Such an incredible location, a stones throw from the beach. We booked the 2 small bungalows for 3 people. Unfortunately the weather was terrible but we made the most of it. Jodie was super helpful and such a friendly woman. The bungalows were great, all the amenities you need and very clean. Beds also very comfy. Thank you Dean and Jodie - we will be back!
✗ Nothing
✓ The location is amazing and the facilities are great
✓ The location, the bungalow and the owners. Also the local people.
✓ Bungalow is across the road from Thornton beach I could see the beach from the balcony.. is basic but has everything you need. & Dean & Jodie the owners are great hosts. I really enjoyed my stay.
✗ zero mobile phone service and wifi was a patchy but is good for off the grid.. and being in the rainforest nature was very noisy but that’s what happened when you stay in the rainforest.
✓ The big bungalow was fantastic- huge living space, really well equipped and homely. Surrounded by a beautiful garden which backs onto the rainforest. The location is amazing, right opposite the beach and close to most of the places you’d want to visit in Daintree. Would definitely recommend for a group- such great value for money. Thank you!
✓ The property was really good and had everything we required Location was great 😊
✗ not much but probably having no blinds in the bathroom it’s a little bit scaryv
✓ simple but comfortable with the beach visible.
✗ nothing. I t was a relief to have no TV.
The road from Port Douglas to Thornton beach and Cape Tribulation is sealed all of the way so it is suitable for 2wd cars.
The house at the rear of the property is listed on Booking.com as the big bungalow, It is rented as a 2 night minimum stay.
Hi Sandy. The 2 queen ensuite bungalows have their own private bbq areas for cooking, The big bungalow/house has a full kitchen. Non of the rooms have aircon as the property is is off grid and run entirely on solar power. Thanks, Dean and Jodie
Yes, All of the windows and entrance door are fully screened in the Bungalows. Thanks
August & September is the best weather, but it is the busiest time.
