A fun authentic vacation with a real Costa Rican experience.
✓ The location felt like a very authentic Costa Rican experience. We preferred this over a hotel because we really felt like we were part of the local community.
✗ Lack of hot water. But it was so incredibly humid the cold shower felt nice.

Nice staff and close to the centre and beach
✓ Close to the centre, quiet location, staff were pleasant. Nice spacious unit with efficient A/C and a super comfortable bed. Small kitchen and a fridge which is always a bonus.
✗ The pool area is pretty bad - unless you have one of the units that go straight out on to the pool there is not really a place to just relax. No big deal for me as I just went for a quick swim each day but if hanging out by a pool all day is your idea of fun then you will find much better in Tamarindo. WIFI was atrocious but I think here it is really the luck of the draw....many bars and restaurants were the same where I tried to work. The kitchen was badly equipped and all I really managed to do was make coffee - again not a problem for me as I ate out.

Disappointing and unpleasant
✓ The only thing that was good was that it was spacious.
✗ At first they asked us for money for early check-in, which was already unpleasant at all. After we entered at 14:00 at the check-in time, the apartment was still dirty, there is no hot water in the showers upstairs and the shower downstairs is not pleasant at all And without toilets in them. The window in the kitchen faced to the shower of the room below and the kitchen itself is not equipped at all, they didn't even have a pan. The staff and manager were aggressive and not pleasant at all.

Very nice place
✓ Pleasant staff, always responsive on the booking.com reservation chat. Room well organized, kitchen with all needed for me. Quiet A/C. Quiet location, few minutes walk to the bars and restaurants, as well as the beach or bus station. I didn't have the time to try the pool. Balcony had nice view and had a quiet breakfast there daily. I enjoyed and extended my stay.
✗ Water issues from time to time, but I managed. Some holes in the floor. Weekend price was a bit high.

Most disgusting place we stayed

✗ Description say, Waschmaschine included, no it’s not, the Lady wana charge us 30$ one room was smelling disgusting moldy! We called the manager twice! He told us twice to give him 5 minutes to call us back! 2 weeks later still waiting for his call, no refund, no new room! But when we stayed in pool quietly at 10:05, the worker came and said, the owner called him to tell us we should leave the pool because it’s after 10! Like what the heck? Is he babysitting us or what?? Never booking again
