✓ Good value and nice people
✗ The shower was not hot. After a long trip it was a bit disappointing but I understand it may not be an issue with the warm weather.
✓ Clean, comfortable, big rooms, big bathrooms. Fantastic value for money. Safe area. What's not to like. I stayed in 4 hostels in San Jose in total and this was my favourite.
✓ Excellent location and great customer service
✗ That the towel was thin although I paid for it after checked In.
✓ Really nice place. Outdoor seating is good, and the billiard table is great. Wifi everywhere. Comfortable bathrooms and hot water. Kitchen is good, if you want to cook for yourself this is a good hostel. Morning coffee is a nice touch. The staff is nice.
✗ Hostel is next to a very loud road. Sometimes extremely loud. But the hostel is great. I would stay here again. You should consider putting an electric kettle in the kitchen.
✓ Spacious shared room and different open common areas
✗ You can hear the noise from outside
✓ Room was spacious compared to others we stayed in around the country. The hostel has a games area with table tennis and billiard, free to use. It was fun to use.
✗ Showers were only with cold water.
✓ Everything is clean, everyone but the Costa Rican manager is extremely friendly, the place is located in a good area and the German and Austrian volunteers are the best
✗ Mean unorganized Costa Rican manager who did her best to keep me up at night As she is the only bad thing this place had, I have quite mixed feelings about how to review this place because she didn't let me sleep when I made it clear to her I had been robbed and I ended up in a hospital. However, I decided to leave only one bad review and other ones good as I had bad experience on the day I was received by that distasteful lady.
✓ Helpful and friendly staff. Pool table tennis table in the lobby very cute doggy living there too. Shower was ok warm water even though some previous reviews said it was cold.
✗ Some staff speaks no word english but acting like he understood what I say. I nearly missed my 170 $ tour because he said car is waiting downstairs and put me in the taxi, which belonged to my roomate who had to go to the airport. Taxi driver of course 0 english too even though I showed my tour ticket he drove me off “to the bus bus terminal where he thought I have to take a bus myself to that city” Also walk to the city center is like 30 min. And my first room was on the noisy street I changed to more quite but sleeping on a bunk bed above was not that comfortable but better this than cars on the street.
