Swiss Historic Hotel du Pillon

The best hotel I've stayed at, by far, among the seven this trip.

✓ Everyone on the staff was very friendly and helpful. The owner made it feel like we were all part of a family. A very warm atmosphere.

We had a wonderful and very relaxing weekend—a lovely place for a weekend getaway.

A real gem!

✓ I wanted to escape the unbearable heat and the noise of the city and was looking for some cool and calm place to spend a long weekend. The hotel exceeded all my expectations, It is a real gem! Fantastic location -just 15 minutes by foot from the center of Les Diabletets, it is overlooking the mountains, with fantastic views all day long and is very, very calm and peaceful. In the hotel itself you are immediately surrounded by the atmosphere of the old style family hotel where you are really warmly welcomed. The owner of the hotel is an amazing person who was so kind that he met me on my arrival at the train station and on my departure also drove me back very early in the morning! the hotel is decorated with lots of taste, lots of art and the common places are just extraordinary. The guests rooms are dry clean and perfect with very nice balconies and do have all the modern facilities. I really appreciated a very comfortable bed and really an enormous shower cabin . And of course, the view and the calm! I ate all the dinners in the hotel and the food was just exquisite, very fresh, tasty and absolutely home made.The friendly team working in the hotel is really making the difference! The breakfasts were really very nice. Though not in the center of the village the hotel is really perfectly located in order to explore the surroundings, including Glacier 3000. The bus stop to go to Col du Pî’on is very close and I am sure it is the best hôtel in the Diabletets. Truely recommend it and hope to be back.

It’s all about the people…

✓ The 3 hosts, because they are in symbiosis and there is always one of them where and when you need them. They are friendly in a way to make you feel at home and you really do feel you are part of the family. Decoration is authentic and warm and the owner explained as well how he got some different pieces and he loves his place. He says “UN coup de cœur” when he saw the place and decided to buy and you feel the “care” in the deco, the attention to customers and the food “excellent” !! The location is fantastic with the beautiful terrasse and the wild flower garden surrounding it. Yes, I loved it and would go back in a heartbeat.
