Host & Stay - The Blacksmiths is set in Warkworth, 12 km from Alnwick Castle and 34 km from Bamburgh Castle, in an area where hiking can be enjoyed. This holiday home offers accommodation with a patio and free WiFi.

✓ The area is super cute. Not alot in actual Warkworth , but Bertrams for breakfast and The Masons for dinner has everything you need. The decor is lovely in the flat and a well kitted out kitchen and hot shower. Excellent WiFi and a perfect little snug/ dining area for working at.
✗ The mattress was very uncomfortable. They ask you to clean up and leave everything as you found it, but don't supply a dishcloth for washing up. The local shop has the bare minimum for self catering. NB ..not the accomodations fault but the snoring coming from upstairs could be heard loud and clear in both bedrooms.
✓ Everything about the blacksmiths was lovely. Right in the heart of Warkworth with everything we needed to make it a lovely weekend away.
✗ The fact that we were emailed the code for the key lock but not told where the key lock was! It was a good job there was someone at Host and Stay to tell us where key lock was or we would've never have found it in a million years.
✓ Location in centre of village, close to pubs , cafes, restaurants , river walk . Nice comfortable furnishings, homely . Warm once heating sorted out. Well equipped , decent towels and bedding Good shower
✗ No parking , difficult for elderly or infirm for unloading luggage etc Property cold and unwelcoming on arrival, no heating on and it was a very cold day Garden/patio very small , actual size was not given No instructions on how to work anything, no information pack TV wasn’t working , new aerial needed apparently
✓ Very central, handy parking around the corner. Well appointed, plenty of room for four people
✗ The bedroom windows steamed up, lack of ventilation
