Great Location, For older quiet couples only! Not for families due to it being Residential -Elderly
✓ Location was great for access to Southbourne Beach and not too far from Southbourne high street in a car. The access to the beach is a high hill walk to the beautiful beach. There are 2 pub restaurants in walking distance to the apartment along main road. Bournemouth Pier is 15-20 drive away and Poole Quay is 30 min drive away. Apartment was a good size and moderatly comfortable. It had a washing machine and built in dryer which is great for beach towels but you are not allowed to dry any clothes on balcony and there is no clothes airer in apt which would be useful as flat is on top floor and during our stay was very warm, flat could do with a fan on hot days but we managed to cool rooms down with windows and balcony door open at different times when building work adjacent to our building wasnt going on. Being on 3rd floor you get a lovely view of the sea.
✗ There is no actual parking space and due to building being residential the few spaces are always taken which means you have to park on the road if you can get a space. There is no lift and the apartment is on the 3rd Floor so not suitable for people with buggy or trouble with stairs and generally not ideal for families with luggage and noise being above an eldery resident with the noise on wooden floor. We had many disgruntled residents (the buildings directors) complaining of the noise when our children weren't doing much but clearly the wooden floors picked up every bit of noise including hoovering the floors when we arrived as the floors were dirty. Sadly this made our stay unpleasant as we didnt relax when in the apartment constantly telling our children to tip toe and not to run or dance and generally be happy playing because of what we may have to deal with in the rude and unwelcoming residents who are not happy with the property being a holiday let. The apartment was not well cleaned when we arrived more skimmed over here and there and we did not get to check in until 7pm! This then impacted our arrival unpacking, getting childrens dinner ready which was very late! and having to clean when we arrived too is not what we expected when you paying cleaning costs. The cleaning manager reported the cleaners had problems at previous properties, this is not my problem and he should of sent out other agency cleaners to do the job so our apartment was ready in time for our arrival which we already gave them an additional hour on our expected arrival time from a long drive from Birmingham!! He told us at 4.40pm it would be at least half an hour before we could get in as cleaners where supposed to be in the apartment and had our keys but what i think he should of added is the cleaners havent actually arrived at your property yet and suggest we feed the children somewhere nearby as he knew i wanted to get in and feed the children but he wasnt honest.
