A warm, welcoming pub/B&B with fabulous hosts. A great base to explore the North East.

✓ A wonderfully warm welcome and generous, home-cooked breakfast. A lovely, friendly pub, where it was great to sit in the evening. I could not hear any noise at all from the pub when I was in my room, which was always peaceful and quiet.

✗ I couldn't fault Victorian Tap at all. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Great value for an overnight stay to see a show at the theatre.

✓ Friendly staff. Very clean, well equipped room. High standard for a room above a pub. Great breakfast.

✗ Could do with a mirror or two in the bedroom. There were only mirrors in the bathroom. Otherwise, perfect.

✗ Parking is a problem, had to park down the road in car park but it was free of charge overnight!!

Fabulous

✓ The location is excellent, with it being right in the centre of town. It's only minutes walk from long stay parking. The owner and staff were great hosts and went above and beyond to accommodate us. Our messages prior to arriving were answered quickly. Definitely value for money and we will be back when visiting the racecourse again.
