Albergo Bianchi Stazione is set right in front of Mantova Train Station, near Piazza Mantegna and a short walk from the historic centre. Rooms offer air conditioning and satellite TV.

✓ This is a smart, clean, traditional hotel, much better furnished than some more expensive places. It's right opposite the station, which has stairs down to road level, but also a long slope for step-free access (turn left out of the station entrance). My room had floor-level windows opening on to a long balcony. Other rooms had smaller windows, so couldn't use it, and there was a door at the end, so it was private. The slats on the shutters were fixed - I would like to have been able to adjust them to let in some air without letting in mosquitoes, but they would be hard to adapt. Everything else was fine, although a better shower head might be useful. There was also a little garden with table and chairs below. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient. There was a key for the safe, and an elevator. Electric sockets were the 3-pin type, but I was able to borrow an adaptor from the hotel. It's not far from the centre of this beautiful city.
✗ Wifi was poor. It was suggested that it might work better downstairs, but I didn't try it, so can't confirm. But I managed, and I'd certainly stay here again.
✓ We booked this hotel to be near the train station since we were leaving very early. It was totally quiet - unexpectedly so. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. It is directly across the street from the train station entrance, so couldn't have been easier. The stand-out though was the staff - friendly, knowledgeable and professional.
✓ The staff was very nice and very helpful.
✗ This is an old school hotel, with, for example, keys that you turn in to the desk when you venture out. And a tiny shower. And a decor that hasn't been refreshed in years. No problem --I'm old school myself and have traveled in Italy for 40+ years and have no issue with old school. In fact, I rather like it. What I DO have an issue with, however, is lack of Wi-Fi functionality. Any hotel these days absolutely, positively needs Wi-Fi available for its guests in the rooms--it's more important than a 50 channel TV (which the hotel had). But the hotel did NOT have Wi-Fi in my room, and even in the lobby downstairs, the coverage was marginal. Which means I couldn't recommend this hotel to any traveler despite the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
✓ this hotel is managed by a warm, caring family...you feel immediately at home. very convenient ehen travelling by train and only 5 min walk to the piazzas.
✗ some mosquitoes, but they have small electrical inserts to get rid of them
✓ The staff is really kind and always ready to help. The premises are spacious, with a lovely garden in the middle. Breakfast is very good with sweet and savoury options. The location was perfect for me, just across the street from the train station. Even so, my toom was quiet. Will stay again, if I'm ever back to Mantova
✗ There's nothing I did not like
✓ Exceptionally clean! receptionists were very friendly
✗ hotel would need some facility updates
✓ Location near food and train station.
✗ The fact that I had to leave my key with the front desk every time I left the hotel.
✓ Close to the train station
✗ Very small room for two people. Poor accessibility of charging cell phone, even with European converter!
