If you want a smooth trip, avoid this property

✓ It’s nicely located, and clean

✗ They did not accept credit cards; I specifically chose them because this is a workgroup trip, and I need to pay with a corporate card. The owner/ manager was not there. Only a lady, with a minimal formation of hostelry, was at the property. For any questions we had, she needs it to call the owner/manager, who was in another city, to answer. The owner offered me to pay with dollars, but at an absurd exchange rate, ATMs in town did not work for my debit card. The bathroom did not have soup. I don't want to blame this on the staff lady; she is a local member of native groups and nearly speaks Spanish. She was managing, cleaning, and doing secure guard all at once. I short my stay at this property.

Clean and simple, perfect for a short stay

✓ This hotel offers the basics in a clean and easy way. The shower had warm water, the bathroom was modern, the room was spacious. I particularly liked the wide porch with hammock as a place to relax and wait for the rain to pass.

✓ Even though I feel that the price is a bit high, it was really comfortable and had everything you could need: towels, shampoo and soap, hot water. And I must say the hosts were great! I could leave my bags at the reception during the day before leaving. I had a shuttle issue and they were super helpful trying to find solutions, etc, and helped me book my shuttle for the next day and made sure I could get on this one! Great hosts! oh and they came to pick me up at the gas station where all the shuttles arrive!

Great hotel with the nicest owners

✓ Doris and Pablo, the owners of this cute hotel in Lanquin, are the nicest host you could wish for. As a woman traveling alone, I immediately felt safe and at home with them. They are the most caring and helpfull people I’ve met during my trip in Guatemala. The hotel is located 10 min walking distance from the center and my room was large and very clean. Doris also makes delicious breakfasts. I had a great stay at Lauris hotel and surely recommend it if you stop 1 or 2 nights in Lanquin.
