Fabulous
✓ The hotel has been renovated and is like new. Very secure and safe. It's about 4 blocks from Central Ave where all the shops are, parks and museums. Several restaurants right on the same street as the hotel.
✗ The bathroom was very small and it was difficult to get in the shower.

✗ The room small with no windows. Close to reception, where there was very loud long discussions at night and in the morning. I don't like when the bed is not well made, with the bottom sheet constantly slipping off the mattress. Staff unable to provide basic information, such as transport to airport, or money exchange.

Cheap. Close to bus terminal. You get what you pay for.
✓ It's close to the bus terminal that takes you to Puerto Viejo... the reason I stayed there. There's not much going on there through. Only a couple restaurants near by and people hanging around the street corners at night.
✗ It doesn't seem Iike the safest neighborhood so I didn't go out but felt safe in the hotel. Unfortunately, the power went out so I had no electricity, wifi or hot water. So... I think it was just bad timing.

✗ very very suspicious place in danger (after sunset) area, in fact this place is “a hotel for hours” as well, dirty, loud and uncomfortable place. I chose because this is the cheapest place in the capital but I advise against this accommodation

✓ value for money hot shower tv close to everything
✗ few dodgy characters around on the corner, but usual precautions ( street smarts) and nothing to worry about.

I flew from Australia via LA. This hotel was a perfect place for the traveler not in a hurry to unwind and see San Jose.
