It was not worth that money.
✓ Swimming pool.
✗ Clogged drain in a bath.
Nestled on an exclusive 800-metre stretch of Kaanapali Beach, the Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows is located within the Kaanapali Resort complex in Lahaina, Hawaii. This resort offers 3 outdoor pools, a hot tub, and a fitness centre.
✓ Swimming pool.
✗ Clogged drain in a bath.
✓ Beautiful landscape and beach
✗ Double charges for room, said I did not have reservations, and no emails asking for accessible rooms for handicapped daughters in wheelchairs. Which I sent them 3 emails asking for accessible room.
✓ Steps to the beach
✗ The room was dirty, I a reservation for a ocean view room, but I had to got out of the room to see the ocean and we try to have breakfast in the restaurant at the hotel and the waitress was ignoring us the whole time, we asking for coffee she didn’t gave us a spoon to stir the coffee and when she finally gave us utensils those were dirty with dry food stuck on it smh
✓ The cappuccino’s from Scoops.
✗ I think the time has come for hotels to stop leaning on the “views” as the only reason to charge exorbitant rates for lousy rooms. The views are beautiful but the rooms need to be clean and up to date for $600 per night. The room was dirty and way out of date. Stains on old carpet, doors that barely work and slide off the track, cracked and moldy bathroom tile, cheap linens and bath products. This resort could be beautiful if the owners had more pride in it and cared to reinvest in the property.
✓ Accessibility to the beach was great.
✗ The staff at the front desk were very distracted and sounded like they wanted to get back to their gossips more than tending to the guest’s questions. The room was below average for a resort and the water dispensers in the lobby had a page stuck on them that read “Out of order”. It felt like the facility lacked some much needed maintenance and up keeping. Overall a very costly and uncomfortable stay. Would not recommend this property.
✓ the free shuttle was good
✗ the bungalows were old, dated and unclean. we had hair in our toilet, mould on the floor and a leaking wet aircon unit. we let management know and nothing was done. also the rooms were not cleaned or any new towels in 3 days we were there
✓ fast and efficient
✗ nothing
✓ the location.
✗ the property needs a lot of maintenances. the rooms smell heavily of that wet almost moldy smell. the cabinets in the bathrooms need to be fixed some get stuck and almost don’t open. also: HOUSEKEEPING- the note needs to be changed to please CALL AND RESERVE for housekeeping, because out of the 4 nights we stayed we had to call and ask for housekeeping and towels. even though we never put the sign on the door that said we didn’t want housekeeping. we had to remind them twice. we booked 2 bungalows- one bungalow was okay, you can tell that it needs to be revamp, the safe box didn’t work, will open on its own. guess it was the best bungalow because that room didn’t have roaches The first bungalow we had we found two baby roaches and you couldn’t sleep on the bed (it would sink in and you could feel the springs) we tried to sleep in it for two night couldn’t do it so we asked for a new mattress? they couldn’t provide it so We were moved to another bungalow. The second bungalow was infested with roaches, it was so disappointing, we came for a peaceful holiday…The Royal Lahaina is NOT CHEAP for about $850 a night for a bungalow YOU EXPECT SOME TYPE OF CLEANLINESS, UP KEEP, NOT AN INFESTATION. When we went to speak to the front desk, all the receptionist said was it was an island and there would be bugs. And that’s true BUT you expect them outside not inside by your suitcase and around you. All she could tell me was that the whole property had roaches- from the bungalows to the towers. As if I shouldn’t even try to ask for another room. Very off putting and She didn’t offer an apology and/or offer to speak to manager. By the time we spoke to manager we were moved AGAIN to the towers but by this time it was too late. needles to say we won’t be returning again.
